The Interchange Incorporated AGM was held on 19 November 2016, and highlighted the achievements of the 2015-2016 financial year.

The meeting was chaired by President, Sandra Martin, and included the election of new board members, John Ashby, Stephen Whitworth and Travis van den Berg and re-election of current board members Graeme Bird, Jan Bence and Ben Otter. Sandra Martin and Marie Lugg resigned from the board, and were thanked for their contribution over the years.

The 2016 Jean Simpson Awards was presented to Employee of the Year, Jan Bence (of UMFC), and joint winners of the Volunteer of the Year, Olivia Conan-Davies and Isobel Leggett (of Interchange Inner East). Jan, Olivia and Isobel all shared their passion and drive for working and volunteering with children with disabilities, and were acknowledged for their wonderful achievement. Both Olivia and Isobel shared their award win with Brittany and Brigette, two young girls who they mentor as part of the Interchange Inner East mentor program.

Attendees were treated to the first peek of four new Interchange video clips, which promote working and volunteering with Interchange agencies. The interview-style clips feature: a staff member; host program volunteers; a recreation volunteer; and a family who utilise Interchange services. The video clips will shortly be available on the Interchange website.

Guest speaker Brendan Walsh, CEO of healthAbility, gave a comprehensive presentation on collaboration, partnerships and mergers and shared his considerable experience in this area.

The second guest speaker, David Moody, State Manager Victoria, National Disability Services, provided an update on the National Disability Insurance Scheme roll out, including changes, challenges and opportunities for service providers.
