Pilot Program: Supporting Interchange agencies to recruit volunteers with disability News Post Oct 16, 2020 Interchange Incorporated currently has a pilot program underway which aims to encourage and support people with disability to volunteer with an Interchange agency. Creating volunteering opportunities for people with disability contributes to developing an inclusive community and enables people with disability to contribute and share their skills. The pilot program will run until 28 February 2018 and will allow Interchange member agencies to access grant funds to provide support and assistance to volunteers with disability throughout the application, induction and establishment phases of their volunteering pathway. The aim of this pilot program is to establish the feasibility and scalability of this model throughout the volunteering sector. If successful, this pilot could be used as a baseline for participants to utilise their NDIS funding to have a paid worker/mentor assist them to commence volunteering in disability and mainstream services, without the need for ongoing support. We will share the results and stories of those involved once the pilot has been completed.
